For my bowl, I did sgraffito. It was a very simple, fast and easy skill. So i made my bowl by rolling out a slab of white clay and then I would take a bowl, put seran wrap inside and put all the clay inside at once, I would then smooth out everything and cut off the extra clay that isn't needed and make sure the bowl is all the same with thickness. I would then take out the bowl and peel off the seran wrap, I then put black underglaze on it and then I then put it in a bag with some air and waited till it was leatherhard. After that i scraped my design i wanted. For me I really like the random lines so that's what i went with. I then put a clear glaze on top of that. I really like the way it turned out and my family loves it. on some parts of the bowl, I messed up on the sgraffito but that's okay because overall I think I did pretty good and wouldn't mind doing it again
For my relief tile, I put my initial O and also used that as a swimming pool because i like swimming and then i did the cards because it reminded me of an anime called kakegurui and i love to watch anime and i did the flowers because flowers are pretty and I used the pink, blue and purple on each flower because of the bi pride flag. I am really proud of my relief tile. I wish the colors on the bi flag were more accurate but i love it over all. I am also glad that the water in my pool came out very well.
I used a grey underglaze sunkissed yellow for the yellow dots and the inside of the flowers mosaic blue for the bottom left flower wisteria purple for the middle flower wine a bout for the top flower opaque white for the outside of the pool black for the cards and dots ivy green for the stem hot tamale for the cards and dots
For my texture roller, i was going to do a different design where it was like scales but it was so small and it would have taken forever with the glue so i decided to free hand and do these squiggly lines and i like it a lot more. It looked good on my slab box so i'm not upset about it
These are my 3 pinch pots, so for one of them i scratched the inside and outside to create a different texture and then glazed it with a teal color called nautical jade. The other one, i stacked up little pots on top and then used 3 different glazes for that. I used grape, lilac and mysteria. And for my last one i folded the edges a bit and also glazed it with sassy yellow on the inside and iris black on the outside and then cosmic black on the black. I am proud of them but i like the 3 layered pinch pot the most. I learned how to use different ways to build pinch pots and how to combine different glazes together. |
